At Lake Travis High School, a major infrastructure upgrade moved high-voltage electrical service from overhead lines to a new underground system, improving reliability and resilience across the campus.
Commissioned by Austin Energy, CapStar’s work included the infrastructure required to transition the existing service underground, from trenching and utility coordination through installation and termination. Performing that work within an active school environment added another layer of complexity, requiring careful sequencing to minimize disruption while maintaining progress in the field.
By replacing exposed overhead infrastructure with a protected underground system, the project reduces maintenance demands and vulnerability to weather while providing Lake Travis High School with a stronger electrical foundation for the future.
